Magnalonga - the mouthwatering walk - Ludlow 12/8/2012
The Food and the Drink and the Walk
The mouthwatering walk for all the family -
a different kind of day out!
Walk through the wonderful Marches countryside

This year, the Magnalonga repeats its usual pattern whereby the walk (it's leisurely and fun, not a race!) takes you up and down footpaths, tracks and quiet lanes through unspoilt countryside with fine views all around. This year, we'll be exploring country footpaths and quiet lanes between Ludlow and the countryside surrounding the town. There may well be stiles, steep hills and rough tracks to navigate!

During your journey, you make several stops for refreshment, at each of which you will partake of a course of a meal based mostly on the local produce of the area. At each stop your food will be washed down with local real ale, or traditional local perry or cider, or other drink with a local connection. You will also be given some bottled water.

The Ludlow Magnalonga, now in its ninth year, is based on a similar and very successful event organised by our wine-making friends in Ludlow's twin town of San Pietro in Cariano, near Verona in Italy - the home of Valpolicella.

We are sure you will enjoy this unusual day out - but book soon, it's very popular and we can only cater for a limited number of people.

Tickets 2012 prices to be confirmed in April 2012 and must be bought in advance, online or by phone or post.

Starting and Finishing times
To avoid congestion, the walk starts in groups, at 10-minute intervals, between 10.00 and 11.30 am. The exact location in Ludlow of the start and finish has not been finalised at the time of writing this. When ordering tickets you may express a preference for a starting time and we shall do our best to give you this time slot, but it won't be possible in all cases.

Your ticket will indicate your own particular starting time, and detailed instructions for finding the starting location will be sent to you with the ticket.

We anticipate that you will finish the walk between 4.00 and 6.00 pm. Walk at a leisurely pace and enjoy yourself - it isn't a race!
